Waivers are required for all climbers. A parent or legal guardian must fill out a waiver for anyone under 18 years old. Fill out your waiver ahead of time to save time during your visit!
Our orientation walks you through what to expect, your responsibilities, and the risks associated with climbing. You can save time before your visit by watching the orientation video and signing the orientation document online.
Wear clothing that is comfortable and flexible, and make sure to wear long shorts or pants if you plan to use a harness for roped climbing. Climbing shoes are not required, but you must wear closed-toed, athletic shoes to climb. Remember, all first-time visitors age 12+ receive rental climbing shoes for free! Socks are recommended (but not required) to use with rental shoes.
Don’t forget, anyone under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult during their visit.
Our top pieces of advice for new climbers are:
Climb with friends. Climbing is more fun with friends, so be ready to meet new people or grab a buddy and come learn something new together!
Start slow. Warm up well, and start off easy. For your first visit, we recommend focusing on just enjoying the adventure.
Learn from others. Don’t be afraid to ask for help! TRC Staff are happy to offer tips on technique and safety. We’re here to make your visit fun and memorable.
